Ellen Whyte

Ellen Whyte has just released her fourth album, appropriately titled: Four Way Stop, a soaring achievement from an accomplished singer songwriter.  Ellen has fronted bands continuously now for 30 years, as she has three critically acclaimed albums in addition to the latest effort. She was captivated by music since she was a child growing up in Fort Lauderdale Florida. Leaving the humidity and the taffeta dresses of her accordion marching band behind, Ellen branched out to blue grass, gospel, rock, blues and jazz. Her eclectic tastes in music include heroes such as Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald, Joni Mitchell, and Bonnie Raitt.
Ellen is known for her astonishing vocals, as she gracefully moves among genres from blues to jazz to funk and ballads. Her percussive rhythm guitar work is well suited to her voice, and she plays solo, in duos and trios, up to a full nine piece band complete with a horn section. She's won numerous awards for her work, including consideration for two Grammy Award nominations in 1999.

Billy D and the Hoodoos

Billy D's life experience has given him the strength to write the Blues with a passion that only comes from living it. He is heavily influenced by Chicago's blues, but Billy isn't just a typical blues man. His writing and musical talents create a "Backbeat Roots" style that goes way past traditional blues music. His songs reflect the tough lessons of his past and show his love for Mother Blues and her first-born, Rock & Roll.

In the mid '90s Billy moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico and began playing his original songs at local clubs and concerts. Within the year, Billy D and the Hoodoos were formed. In 2003, KTAO voted She's The One the number one song by a regional artist. KTAO hosted the Annual Solar Fest in New Mexico where Billy D and the HooDoos appeared that year, opening for Los Lonely Boys and Robert Cray.

After releasing his second CD, Rokdablu!, and several more successful years in New Mexico, Billy left the Southwest for Oregon in late 2009. His newest CD, Somethin's Wrong , was embraced by the Portland music community and has received outstanding reviews.

Cody Beebe & The Crooks are a 7-piece roots-rock band from Seattle, WA.  Formed in February of 2009, the group combines Beebe's aggressively percussive acoustic guitar style with rock, Americana, country and blues into a mainstream yet strikingly fresh, creative and unforgettable sound. Their debut recording, released June 22, 2010, Friends of the Old Mill was expertly crafted at London Bridge Studio with multi-platinum producer Jonathan Plum and captures the dynamic energy of their live performance and the band's timeless, honest approach to writing and recording. Cody Beebe & The Crooks have performed with Josh Turner, Jason Reeves, Rooney, Afroman, Ari Hest, Carey Judd, The Drew Davis Band, This Providence, Tonic, The Randy Rogers Band, Andy Griggs, and Handful of Luvin’.

Shoot Jake
4:00 – 5:30pm

Shoot Jake began in mid 2009, spurred on by a lack of good rock and roll. Not bland, whiny rock and roll, but solid, heavily blues based, danceable, funky rock and roll. The members all come from different musical backgrounds and put those different influences into making music that swings, grinds, and hopefully, gets you all sweaty.

Outside of playing music, the band members like to march around, carrying signs warning people of the coming Apocalypse. Lindsay is also in the indie/80’s throwback band “Tieton Drive,” and John plays bass in the heavy metal band “Deny Your Deceiver.” Ben sits around watching Oprah all day.
