Our Volunteers
The Heart of the Greenway

Without You, there would not be an Us

Volunteer support has been and continues to be crucial to the success of the Greenway. Beginning with the Board of Directors, which sets policy and goals and actively participates in fund raising, volunteers are involved in all aspects of Greenway activities.

From coordinating special events to pulling weeds and planting flowers, over 500 volunteers a year help keep the Greenway a very special place for our entire community to enjoy.  We appreciate the volunteers with whom we work with directly, as well as the many volunteers who quietly and often anonymously work to clean and beautify the Greenway.

New Volunteers are always welcome!

Current opportunities include:

Gardening and Litter Pick-up

Individual volunteers or groups are needed to maintain flowerbeds and plantings as well as help with litter pick-up in Greenway parks. The Greenway can supply gardening tools, garbage bags and litter pick-up sticks if necessary.

Courtesy Cart Drivers

From May thru October, cart drivers pass out water, first aid supplies, information, smiles and make the Greenway a welcoming and friendly place to visit. Drivers commit to a three hour shift once a week. This is a wonderful way to see the pathway and interact with the many users of the Greenway.

Gap2Gap Relay

About 200 people are needed as race course monitors, as well as set-up and take-down of the event.  The safety and success of these races are dependant on adequate volunteer coverage.  We welcome service clubs and employee groups who would like to volunteer.

Additional Opportunities

Volunteers are always needed for the Kids Fish In as well as other events that take place at one of our many Greenway Parks.
