LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT

The Yakima Greenway and its greater region occupy the ancestral, traditional, and contemporary lands of the 14 Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation.

We respectfully honor these communities as longtime caretakers of this land, and we are grateful for their ongoing and important presence. For the Yakama people, this land holds many stories, sacred places, and ceremonies, and as settlers and guests on these lands, we respect the work of Indigenous leaders and families and recognize their sovereignty, knowledge, and resilience.
