​The Yakima Greenway is more than a path. It is a promise that in Yakima, we value connection, health, and belonging. The Greenway connects us to one another, to our rivers and greenspaces, and to the quiet moments that restore us. The Yakima Greenway Endowment is a legacy fund created to ensure the long-term support and sustainability of the Greenway for generations to come. An endowment gift is not simply maintenance for today; it is protection for tomorrow. It is a permanent investment whose earnings will care for our pathways, parks, and open spaces long into the future.
Donors may choose to support the Endowment, give where the need is greatest, or blend a gift that helps care for the Greenway today while building long-term strength for the future. Each contribution helps protect the paths, parks and open spaces that connect our community.
Endowment giving is about permanence. It is like planting a tree whose shade you may never sit under but knowing someone you love will. Since 1980, the Greenway has been powered by this community. Planned gifts, legacy gifts, and multi-year pledges ensure it will remain a defining part of Yakima’s for generations to come.

How IT WORKS
​
The Yakima Greenway Endowment is built to provide enduring support for the Greenway’s future. Each year, an average of 5% of the Endowment’s value is distributed to support the mission of the Yakima Greenway Foundation.
What does this mean for your gift? An endowment gift continues to give year after year. Earnings support the preservation and enhancement of the Greenway, while the principal remains invested to grow and sustain the fund for the future. Your generosity becomes more than a single act of support, it becomes a lasting investment.​​
